At the central point of the palm is Pericardium 8 , which is the area known as the Palace of Anxiety by acupuncturists. It is placed about an inch below the index and middle fingers, if you draw a line to find in the middle. This is where you can promote better blood flow to your major organs and enhance positive energy.
If you feel particularly stressed or are in an uncomfortable situation, place your right thumb on Pericardium 8 in your left hand. Close your hand around your thumb and hold for a count of ten. Then switch to the other hand and repeat.
Next, gently pull the fingers of your right hand back and hold for five seconds before gently releasing them. Then stroke the inside of the palm of your left hand with your right hand vigorously for twenty seconds. Flip your hand over so the back of your hand is facing up and with the other hand, massage in circular motions for about 30 seconds. You can repeat the Shiatsu massage again with the other hand as needed.
You can add some aromatherapy essential oils to your hand to increase the benefits of your stress-fighting experience. You should feel calmer and better focused at the end of your hand massage.
